Mixi Collectors First Edition, CDMX 2025

Mixi Collectors is a new acquisition prize initiative that in its debut edition (2025) brought together 16 emerging Mexican artists in the group exhibition “El Color: ¿Forma o deforma?” at Casa Siza, Mexico City (November 20–29).

Curated by Yuri Ortiz, the project awarded an acquisition prize for entry into our private collection.

Selected artists Jonathan García · Francisco Gamero · Sebastian Dávila · Nicolás Topete · Dulce Olivia Ferreira · Daniloween · Salvador Banda · Brandon Charbel · Verna Barrera · Aydé López · Daniel Seis · Ruth Gonzaluna · Rafael Bores · Ileana Moreno · Marlen Loss · Yazú Escapa

Official Jury Baby Solis · Ricardo Coeto · Emmanuel Diaz · Jimena Peña · Armando Muñoz

The exhibition included an official catalog, panel discussion, and forthcoming e-book documenting the artists, jurors, and collaborators.

Excerpt from the curatorial text by Jimena Peña “Color is a voice heard in layers. It does not impose itself; it resonates in the viewer’s gaze, inviting the discovery that all painting is a contemplative experience in time, in light, with its rhythms, nuances, and saturations.”

Over 200 attendees —press and public— visited the show. A collectors preview led to the acquisition of 4 works for private collections.

With this first edition, Mixi reinforces its commitment to actively promote contemporary collecting in Mexico.
